The course is ideal for those looking to move into work in the future or just develop their confidence and social skills
During the coffee morning we will talk about what is involved in the course and try out some activities involved, including:

*Dragons Den – Who would you invest in?
Biscuits will be provided and we promise it won’t feel like you are back at school!
Ofsted is inspecting your school, and would like to hear your views, You can do this by completing an online pupil questionnaire at the following link:
Your views are really important to us and will help inspectors understand your experience of school. The questionnaire will close at 11am on 06 February 2018, to give the Inspector time to look at the results. The questionnaires work in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Browser 11, and on mobiles and tablets when you copy and paste the link into the browser.
We do not ask for your name, so you will not be identified from the responses you make.
The Council’s Sport and Leisure team is offering a fantastic new multi activity camp which includes 5 days of fun and entertainment as part of their sports coaching programme.
The camp is a great opportunity to keep children active over the school holidays while also allowing parents to maintain work commitments.
Children can enjoy this jam-packed week of activities, playing a huge range of sports including football, basketball, athletics, dodgeball, cricket, volleyball and lots more. They can also develop their skills in sports they haven’t tried before and take part in team games and races.

Free early drop off is available from 9am and free late pick up until 4pm.

Today the children from Reception visited the beach and the South Marine Park. They all had a brilliant time and were an absolute credit to the school. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen and well done to the children.
Over the Summer Holidays as part of a new Active Outdoors initiative between the National Trust and Sport England. The ‘Summer of Sport’ Programme 2017 aims to get more young people and families active and outdoors in a variety of sports and is very much focused around providing opportunities for FREE family fun over the school holidays.
They will have sessions running every Tuesday (25th of July, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th of August) between 11am and 3pm and the sessions will be taking place at Souter Lighthouse and along the Leas (Souter Lighthouse, Coast Rd, Sunderland, SR6 7NH).
We would therefore be delighted if pupils of Ashley Primary School were to come in and visit the Lighthouse over the holiday period whilst also participating in a whole host of fun and sporting activities that will be on site and across the full length of the Leas.
This is the perfect option for families to get active, get outdoors and have fun for free this Summer whilst taking in the breath taking views that our beautiful coastline has to offer.
If you would like more information regarding this great opportunity – please don’t hesitate to contact Stephen using the contact details below.

Today we have been learning about distance. We came into the yard and had a mini competition to see who could throw their bean bag the furthest and to see which beanbag went the shortest distance. Some of the beanbags went similar distances so Mrs Jewitt demonstrated how you could use your feet to measure to see which one had gone the shortest distance. After everyone had a turn, Mrs Manning, Miss Christison, Mrs Jewitt and Lewis (he had thrown it the furthest out of all of the children) had their own competition. Miss Christison won, Lewis came 2nd, Mrs Manning came 3rd and Mrs Jewitt was disqualified!
