Just to remind you of the start times for Sports Day this Friday 6th July. Please note that this has been posted in our newsletter each week, since 24th May.
Reception/Year1/Year 2 – 9:30am
Years 3 – 6 – 1:30pm
Anyone coming to watch and cheer the children on should enter the school field through the double gates at the bottom of the main drive. A member of staff will be supervising this gate and everyone should leave this way too after the morning event.
At the end of the afternoon event, the children will return into school to return their chairs and collect their belongings. They will then be dismissed through the normal doors, providing there is an adult waiting to collect them. If you then walk round to the infant yard, younger siblings will be handed out to you from there. Where there is no adult to collect a child early, we will obviously keep them in school until the bell goes.
Please remember that any photos taken are for your own personal use and MUST NOT be uploaded onto any social media sites. This is for the safety of some of our children. We very much appreciate your support on this matter.
We look forward to seeing you there and fingers (and everything else) crossed for the weather!
Please remember to check the school website – ashleyprimary.co.uk regularly for updates and news. Newsletters are uploaded every Friday and have important dates etc on the first page.
We have been learning all about Judaism in RE and this week we learned about Shabbat. We made these Havdalah boxes which are used to mark the end of Shabbat. The boxes usually contain spices!
Don’t miss the South Tyneside Festival Summer Parade on Saturday 30 June, which this year has an amazing theme all based around the tales of Monsters, Myths and Magic. The Parade will leave South Shields Town Hall at 1pm and makes its way through the town centre to Bents Park where there will be an action packed afternoon of free family fun entertainment to enjoy. Find out more about this event (the biggest carnival of its kind in the North East), along with the free Kids Fun-Fest at the Seafront Amphitheatre during the school holidays, at www.southtynesidefestival.co.u
SHIVER ME TIMBERS!!! WHERE HAVE THE CHILDREN GONE?!
If anyone sees the children from 1KL, please would you wish them a happy half term? (At your own risk of course.)

P.S if any of the crew enjoyed the story we found buried in the school garden, The Night Pirates by Peter Harris, you can get a copy in any good book shop or from Amazon.
HUGE well done and congratulations to the boys and girls in our class this week for a fantastic first ever class assembly! You were all absolutely amazing and we’re very proud of you all.
Miss Lawson and Miss Leask.
Please find attached the timetable for our Community Sport Timetable.
Something crazy happened during the night at Ashley – we were visited by PIRATES! They left an old treasure map in the classroom with clues to where they had hidden treasure in the garden. So, we decided to go and find it all!
