Something crazy happened during the night at Ashley – we were visited by PIRATES! They left an old treasure map in the classroom with clues to where they had hidden treasure in the garden. So, we decided to go and find it all!
We had lots of fun on Wednesday morning learning all about cricket with Connor who was giving us a little taster of the All Stars Cricket programme!
Here are some photos:
If you are interested in joining the club all of the details were given out on Wednesday in a letter or alternatively here is a link to the website:
Do we have the next big cricket star at Ashley?
Little Miss Emily was kind enough to take care of Turbo at the weekend and I’m sure he had a great time!
Thank you so much Emily!
The Foundation of Light and Ashley Primary School are hosting a coffee morning on Wednesday 2nd May at 8.30 for all parents and family members of Ashley Primary School.
The Foundation of Light will be there to talk about their FREE family learning course available to parents and family members of Ashley Primary.
This course will help you develop your confidence and social skills. There will be activities that will help you make decisions, identify your strengths and be more confident working with others.
The course is ideal for those looking to move into work in the future or just develop their confidence and social skills
During the coffee morning we will talk about what is involved in the course and try out some activities involved, including:
*Buzz personality tests (what animal are you and what does it say about you!)
*Coping with pressure countdown quiz
*Dragons Den – Who would you invest in?
Biscuits will be provided and we promise it won’t feel like you are back at school!
This week we are learning about the alternative ‘air’ sounds ‘ear’ and ‘are’
Here are your new spellings:
Please remember your blue spelling books!
Miss Lawson and Mrs Hall 🙂
Every Friday afternoon playtime, there’s nothing better than dancing the time away to our favourite songs on the yard – it’s even better when the sun is shining!
Check out our video below:
Let Miss Lawson know your favourite song and who knows, you may hear it one Friday! Have a great weekend everyone, don’t forget your sun cream.
In Literacy, we have worked together to draw the story map for Dogger. We have decided which parts are the beginning, middle and end (including how we know). To help us rewrite the story in our own words, we are acting out the story map bit by bit. We have special actions for different parts!
Here is a brilliant first performance of the beginning by Holly and Katie.
Special mention to Luke who is quite skilled at filming!
Why don’t you ask your child to show you their acting skills and perform what they’ve learned so far…?! Stay tuned to see some of our writing which I’ll try to post in the very near future!
Miss Lawson 🙂
