Self-Care Week is an annual national awareness week that focuses on establishing support for self-care across communities, families and generations takes place from 18th  to 24th  November. It aims to help people take care of themselves, and lets them know what’s available to help them look after their health.

This year’s theme is Think Self Care for Life. The intention of the week is to bring awareness of how we can support people to be healthy for all their life.  Whether it is about preventing ill health by choosing healthy options that will impact positively on their physical health and mental wellbeing, taking care of their own minor ailments at home or understanding how to manage more serious conditions.

South Tyneside Libraries and South Tyneside  Council’s Public Health Team in partnership with local NHS and voluntary sector organisations have produced a programme of activities during the week. The week will be launched by the Mayor, here in South Tyneside, on Monday 18th November at 10am at Cleadon Park Library.
