Year 5 took part in a fantastic ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ workshop this week. As part of the sessions, the children learned about what racism means and how we can help to put a stop to it.

The year group were fantastically well behaved and took part enthusiastically; sharing their thoughts, ideas and experiences. The workshop dealt with some sensitive dialogue and issues; we are immensely proud of how maturely the children responded to this and subsequently volunteered their own perspectives.

It wasn’t all classroom based however, the children also took part in a Fitness Fun session with ex-professional footballer Gary Bennett. This taught them invaluable team building skills whilst putting their fitness levels to the test. The team were brilliant with the children and we think we can safely say that the children (and adults) thoroughly enjoyed their day!
